Many people think Alexander the Great was actually great, but many disagree because of the amount of people he has killed, but that's their only reason and I can prove them wrong. But if they knew all the good things he has done for his empire they would change their mind.
To people that don’t agree:
Imagine being in the Macedonian Empire, how would you feel? I don't know about you but I would feel protected from enemies respected and cared for.
The reason that he killed a hundred thousand people was not because he was a horrible king, it was because he cared 1. He cared for his empire and it had to be dressed, fed, and feeling safe.Or would you rather be such a small empire , that anyone could defeat you and suddenly EVERYONE’S DEAD!!! His battles, hard work, and conquests were for a reason he was not the kind of person who did things just CUZ’. First of all, because he had such a large empire ,he would not have to suffer from a famine or World War because he had so much land to build farms on and many warriors. Second of all, really, almost every king in history had wanted more land and killed lots of people! But what all the king were horrible?! NO !!!!!! Without rulers, humans would probably go extinct because our ancestors can’t survive and lead people to success if they have no resources, land and most importantly a smart and strong
LEADER!!!!
The spread of Greek culture also depended on Alexander.2 If it weren't for him it ,we might have never even heard of a democracy or a theater or that awesome greek style writing! In the text, “History Alive: The Ancient World 2” explains he would spread Greek culture and ideas. And why was Alexander great? Because, he respected the different cultures of different places he conquered. And at the same time he cared for his Empire and spread Greek culture. He died a great man at 33 years old .
