Alexander the Terrible [Josie]

Do you know Alexander the Great? I bet you don’t! You probably know him better by Alexander the Terrible. Alexander is a bit of a pushover. He never seems to be just good or just bad. This lead me to think that he just wasn’t a good guy. Alexander goes around being perfect and then he cuts off someone’s head. I do not think that he deserves to be king of a gigantic empire. From cutting someone’s head off for doing a good deed, not caring for his soldiers,
and insisting he was a god,
Alexander seems pretty wacked up.

Alexander first hits me as a good guy and then I find out he cuts someone’s, who just did a really good deed, head off. This changes everything. The legend goes like this: Alexander was steering a boat down a river when a gust of wind blows his hat band of his head. The hat band lands in the reeds and one of sailors jumps into the river to get it. The sailor puts the hat band on his head so it won’t get wet. No big deal. Well, when the sailor climbs back on the boat he is rewarded with $10,000 and an appointment to get his head cut off. Why? Because the profits told Alexander that anyone that wears the hat band shouldn’t be safe!1
If you are fighting and a lot of your men are dying don’t you think you should stop and care for them? Well, Alexander didn’t lift a finger when his men were dying. Alexander was fighting for a small island, named tyre, but the problem was Tyrian people believed their island was unconquerable. Alexander built a bridge out of rubble  so he could cross the the water that surrounded the island. The Tyrian people, not giving up, kept counter attacking and Alexander’s army AB30562.jpg

were dying. Not once did Alexander stop fighting.2
Alexander was considered great. That is enough right? Well, not for Alexander. He demanded to be looked upon and worshiped as a god.3 Who would want to kneel to a guy who has done nothing to improve their life?
Who knows how Alexander got the title, “Alexander the Great.” All I know now is that is he should never be called by that title again. Even if you don't believe me, remember that Alexander killed someone who had just a good deed, didn’t care about his soldiers, and demanded to be called a god.
