Infamous Greatness [Mai-Anh Nguyen]

Oh Alexander. He’s good, he’s bad, he’s all around. There is no doubt that he’s great. He has courage, leadership, a remarkable achievement, everything. He’s just lacking in that “concern for others” department. As great as he was, he’s not the kind of great one would aspire to be. Great doesn't automatically mean good. He’s great, but not good. He’s great in a bad way, whatever you want to call it. I mean, come on, this guy killed maliciously, conquered out of greed, and was a religious fanatic!
This guy killed it! Literally. Killing 100,000 men in just four battles. Check. Crucifying 2,000 young men. Check.1 Of course, these men did practically nothing to him. One man even did an act of kindness for Alexander, but knowing Alexander...he chopped the man’s head off.2 No joke. Alexander’s hat fell into the water, and a kind, loyal soldier swam to get it for Alexander. Then, Alexander decided to kill the man because of his superstitions.3 Now this is not a joke. There is no doubt about it when I say this man was a malicious killer.
This guy was quite the conqueror. 2,000,000 miles of land in just 11 years, at the age of 20.4 Now that’s an achievement. At age 20, most of us are conquering land in Minecraft, not the ENTIRE (almost) ancient world! We’re talking about 44% of the current world’s population, that he had control over!5 This would all be fine if he hadn’t done all of his conquering, out of pure greed. Everything is more, more, more. But what am I saying? An entire kingdom of Macedonia isn’t good enough for the man. Quite the ruthless conqueror he is.

No kidding when I say that this man was foolish! Remember the man who got his head chopped off his body? Yeah...Alexander did that because of some prophet’s superstition. Talk about foolish. He was foolish for yet another reason. He literally named himself a god. But don’t worry, there’s more! He named 70, yes 70, cities after himself. The foolishness strikes again.
Overall, this man just needs a coming to Jesus.
