Did Alexander really Deserve to be Called Great? [Aditya]

How great was Alexander the Great? Historians have been asking this question recently and turns out, he was not that great.

To begin with, this guy 2,000,000 million miles of land just to expand the amount of land under his control.1 That is called being greedy. On top of that, he kept expanding even though his army didn’t want to. He made them march all the was to India on a conquest that would have had very little effect to them.2  His army had to actually refuse to fight for him to realize he was being stupid.

Some of his assaults were really bloody too. For example, the city of Tyre. After defeating fierce opposition that cost the lives of many of his soldiers, he sold 300,000 of its people into slavery and crucified 2000 other men. Doing that to your enemies isn’t just, its murder. He also named 80 cities after himself and even one after his horse. He also thought he was a god, all of which is showing he has a big head and major ego problems.
The empire he created didn’t last long either. The empire he took 11 years to create fell 10 years after he died while on his conquest.3
Now you have seen why Alexander the Great doesn’t deserve the title he’s was given by historians. So do you still believe that he should be remembered as great?
