Alexander the Great was the greatest military leader of all time. Alexander had an empire of 2,000,000 miles. He established 70 towns, 11 of them named Alexandria. However, he had to kill over 100,000 people to do this. All military leader, however, have killed people. For example: George Washington. Is Alexander really great? Yes. Here are my reasons why: He was a great leader, intelligent, and had a remarkable accomplishment.

Alexander was a great leader. An essay states that Julius Caesar himself  wept when he came across a statue of Alexander, because he accomplished so much at such a young age. Military leaders all have had great leadership. Alexander was able to march his army for eight years before they refused to keep going. Could you do that? Probably not.

Alexander is an intelligent military strategist.  Alexander had battle plans that allowed him to win major battles. Some were confusing the enemy. Others were brute force. He won almost impossible battles this way.  Alexander the Great's army was still marching after 8 years. Alexander needed this intelligence to build his massive Empire that fell apart 10 years after his death.

Alexander did a very hard task. He had to control an Empire of 2 million miles, almost all of the ancient world that was known at the time he also had 70, 11 of them were named Alexandria, on a map from various sources. He may be closer than anyone else too controlling all of the known world. Only a few of the military leaders have conquered as much land as he has Julius Caesar himself only conquered  200,000 more miles and he did.

Although Alexander killed 100,000 people he was still a great leader. Alexander had a huge Empire and he established 70 cities. Many stories are told about Alexander. He commanded many armies and he was a very good strategist. Alexander had all the traits to be a great military leader. He was intelligent, good at leading people, and he did an impossible task.
