Falsely Named [Logan]

Many people call him “Alexander the Great,” but was he really all that great? At the age of 30, he completed a conquest of Persia1 out of his own greed. He killed thousands of people during the conquest. I believe that Alexander the “Great” was not very great, because he killed thousands of people, conquered an empire out of greed
and sold thousands of people into slavery.

Alexander conquered
2,000,000 square miles of land1! In my opinion, that is  totally going overboard. According to the History Alive! The Ancient World textbook, Alexander´s father had taken over Greece and wanted to take over Persia, which he wanted to take over because he would get tons of money by doing so. A couple years later, his father died, so Alexander took over and basically slashed the living day light out of Persia. Here is the problem: he did not need to slash the living day light out of Persia. With the addition of Greece, his empire was getting pretty big and made him tons of money. He was rich, but he was also greedy and decided to take Persia and get even more money.

When Alexander conquered the Persian Empire, there were thousands of warriors standing in front of him and his huge paycheck, so he killed them all. In the end of his four major battles, Alexander killed approximately 100,000 people! Keep in mind, Alexander killed those people in his greedy conquest  Persia. He just killed those people so that he
could become wealthier. No one should have had to die just for Alexander to gain more wealth.
When he successfully captured a city, Alexander turned its survivors into slaves2. My problem with that is the survivors did nothing to deserve that kind of fate and were innocent. All they did was wait and hope not to be killed. According to The Fall of Tyre,  Alexander took control of Tyre, then sold its survivors into slavery. This act gave him even more money than the conquest had earned him. He sold around 30,000 survivors from that battle into slavery.
In the end, Alexander plopped down and died with a bunch of money he did not deserve. Alexander´s conquest was based on his and his father’s greed3. He conquered millions of miles of land, killed thousands of people in the process, and got tons of money by selling slaves. Everyone calls him  “Alexander the Great,” but really,
why do they after his conquest was based on his own greed?
